First part of our training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' in Reggio Emilia
On the 1st of December, 2023, we completed the first part of our training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' project, focusing on hikikomori. Our training discussions paved the way for an insightful exploration into the lives behind closed doors.
In this first approach to the subject we had the opportunity to review the theoretical part of the phenomenon by Marco Crepaldi, president of association “Hikikomori Italia”. Thanks to Marco's support, we were able to better understand key concepts about Hikikomori that will guide us in the next stages. We aim to provide a comprehensive view of this phenomenon.
Second part of the training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' in Reggio Emilia
On December 6th, 2023, we did the second part of our training in which we developed the most practical part of the project with activities that helped us understand hikikomori even better. Thanks to these kinds of activities, the team learned more about hikikomori and the stories behind them, going deeper than before. Our 'Beyond the Doorstep' project is about sharing these details and shedding light on what is not often talked about.
YouNet APS (Associazione di Promozione Sociale - Social Promotion Association) is a third-sector organisation, established in May 2010, which opens up and puts itself at the service of the entire world of the third sector, the non-profit sector and, more generally, the entire social macro-system. YouNet collaborates with individuals, informal groups, associations, local authorities, foundations and any public or private entity whose goal is to create a fairer, more equitable and supportive society. This is realised in the design, financing, organisation and implementation of small, large or very large projects with local or international funding.
First part of our training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' in Albania
On the Febrary 19th, 2024, We had the the first part of the Training of Trainers in Tirana. They got the chance to had the space to get to know each other through non-formal education tools, and become acquainted with the project. It highlighted the importance of understanding the phenomenon of Hikikomori from various cultural and social perspectives. Teachers, social workers, psychologists, youth workers discussed the need for interventions to prevent the spark of the syndrome in Albania.
Second part of the training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' in Albania
On the Febrary 21th, 2024, We did the second part of our training in which the participants got the opportunity to explore in depth the Hikikomori profile and case studies.
Discussions followed with the first signs noticed in schools and community surroundings of Hikikomori in Albania. Participants reported that even though the cases in Albania may not be severe yet, action should be taken to prevent escalation.
They suggested that other trainings should be organized on this topic.

First part of our training for the 'Beyond the Doorstep' in Turkey
On the 27th February 2024, we held the first trainer training session on the topic of the "Hikikomori" syndrome. We learned about the Hikikomori Phenomenon, its symptoms and behavioral background. Additionally, the participants examined a Hikikomori case in detail and watched a short movie to understand the subject.
On the 28th February 2024, we held the second trainer training session on the topic of the "Hikikomori" syndrome. The focus of this day was in what are the socials skills and how develop them. In addition, the participants discussed solutions for the hikikomori phenomenon. All group did enjoyable non-formal activitys to keep our energy high during during the day.
Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services (IFSS) is local body of Ministry of Family and Social Services which is responsible for establishing and executing policies for women, children, elders, disabled, martyries and families. IFSS performs, implements and executes social services for disadvantaged groups who are in need of and/or seek for protection, care, examination, education, guidance, training, rehabilitation mentioned above.

On theMarch 11th, 2024, we held the first trainer training session on the topic of the "Hikikomori" syndrome. They explore about Hikikomori, risks, factors and symptoms; and also how to prevent and the acction that schools can do regarding the identification and treatment of Hikikomori
