The workshops in Garibaldi schoolhave been a step of our Beyond the Doorstep project, which in this case has had the aim of sharing some knowledge about the Hikikomori topic with the youngest. We wanted to raise the awerness of around 60 students of the school and we were able to make each of the students aware of the relevance of this phenomenon.
First Workshop on 1st of February
In our first workshop we had the pleasure of presenting our knowledge about Hikikomori to around 60 students, who attended and enjoyed all our cool activities about this phenomenon.
Being able to share our work and put it into practice with teenagers makes our mission possible, which is to be the loudspeaker on what's not usually talked about. During the first workshop, we did the practical part with energizers and activities such as "Line game" o "Il caso di Davide" and also they were sensitised by the local film about the phenomenon. It has been gratifying to see how students engaged with the activities!
Second Workshop on 7th February
A short week later, we had the pleasure of returning to Garibaldi School to see the students again, to test how much they remembered about Hikikomori and to continue with our schedule of activities. In this session, we implemented with the students some of the activities developed throughout the project, such as "World Cafe" o "La scuola ideale". Our intention was that with these activities the students could express all their emotions and thoughts freely, without being judged.
Seeing how students feel about themselves has given us a lot of satisfaction and we hope to have left a positive impact and to have given them the tools to really think about their emotions. We would like to remind , as we usually do, that it is never the wrong time to ask for help and there is no wrong way of doing it!
